Nera Marine Phone
It is small, it is light, it's installation is simple and
it is easy to operate. Its size and price have come down to
a level which makes this terminal ideal and attractive for
all categories of marine crafts, large or small, leisure yatchs
and work boats alike. By connecting a facsimile transceiver
and a PC, one has a complete mobile office on board.
Operating in the Inmarsat -3 Spot Beam System, the Nera WorldPhone
Marine offers digital voice, facsmile and data communication.
As distant from conventional VHF or cellular telephone, the
WorldPhone Marine covers the whole world with the exception
of the polar regions and some remote ocean areas.

is delivered with a CD ROM containing user-guide and software
which enables you to easily configure the terminal from your
PC or laptop. The Windows-based software is compatible with
the business applications on your PC, laptop or palmtop. Start-up
takes only a few seconds and peripheral devices simply plug
and play.
Freedom and flexibility.
The Nera WorldCommunicator includes a built-in cordless phone
base station that allows up to 12 cordless phones to be connected,
to form a cordless local phone network. In addition to the
external line, up to 5 handsets can be used simultaneously
for internal calling. These calls are free of charge, making
the Nera WorldCommunicator perfect for remote and mobile use.
A low-cost 4.8 kbps voice channel is available and the system
accepts wired digital telephones, or analogue equipment via
an external terminal adapter.
The Nera WorldCommunicator weighs just 4kg. It is designed
to be discreet and the entire terminal fits easily into an
A4/PC carrying case. Alternatively, a dual case allows you
to carry a complete system, including a laptop computer as
hand baggage on an aircraft. A well designed hard case is
also optional for real rugged transport. The powerful on-board
Lithium-ion battery provides long life and recharges from
most power sources including a car power socket.
Tough enough for any business
Nera has not compromised robustness for design. We have used
a highly shock-absorbent material, to protect the advanced
electronics from damage caused by rough handling or extreme
climate conditions. The terminal can be used in extreme environments,
from cold to hot weather conditions (-25° to +55°
Celsius). Nera WorldCommunicator is water-resistant and can
with certainty be used outdoors under extreme humidity and
rainy weather. This robust construction ensures that the Nera
WorldCommunicator will be ready for business wherever and
whenever you need it most.
